TIRUNELVELI, FEB.19. The body of one of the victims, J. Sujahar (25), of Chidambarapuram under the Kalakkad police station limits, who was killed in the recent air-crash in Iran, was brought to his hometown this morning and cremated. In a bid to secure a job, Sujahar went to Sharjah in November with his relative, Ajay, who is working in the United Arab Emirates. Since Sujahar's tourist visa was about to expire, he had to extend his travel permit for another three months. As per immigration regulations of the UAE, tourists should leave the country on or before the date of expiry of the visa and could come back to the country again only after entering any one of the neighbouring countries. When Sujahar went to an island in Iran and was returning to Sharjah for fulfilling the condition, the aircraft met with an accident, in which he was killed. Sources close to the victim said blood samples were collected from his parents a couple of days ago for DNA tests to establish his identity. After ensuring the identity of the victim, the completely charred body was first flown to Thiruvananthapuram and then brought to the village by road for cremation.
