NEW DELHI, FEB. 19. To help students of Class X and XII tackle complex problems of mathematics and hone their skills, the Mathematical Sciences Foundation has launched a free helpline for students appearing for the board examinations this March. With considerable experience in school activities connected with mathematics, the Foundation will offer the helpline free for students requiring counselling and advice. According to a Press release issued by the Foundation, the free mathematics helpline will be offered on telephone numbers 55155242 and 27666300 from February 19 to 21 between 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Students can seek the help and advice of experts at the Foundation by logging on to helpcbse@India.com, msfschool@hotmail.com or helpexam@hotmail.com The Foundation, a registered non-profit educational activity with its office at St. Stephen's College and with the ICICI Bank Limited and the college itself as institutional members, will offer the helpline as part of its numerous high value activities associated with mathematics. "The helpline service by the Foundation will be a totally free service and will be available to any student of Class X or XII,'' pointed out Dinesh Singh, Director and Professor of Mathematics, University of Delhi. The objectives of the programme would be to provide statistical analysis of past question papers and the frequency of questions and topics. The helpline will also enable students to take the help of eminent mathematicians and experienced teachers to solve their problems, he added. Also as part of the helpline, counselling about the right food, nutrition, exercise and sleep requirements with inputs from health and medical professionals connected with the PSRI Hospital would be offered. This apart, the students would be offered counselling in various ways like tips to do well in examination or methodology to tackle problems.
