CHANDIGARH, FEB.19 .The Haryana Chief Minister, Om Prakash Chautala, today announced that a sainik school would be set up at Pali Gothra village in Rewari district in the near future. Addressing a public meeting after laying the foundation stone of a regional post-graduation centre at Lisana village in Rewari district, he disclosed that he had urged the Prime Minister, Atal Behari Vajpayee, and the Union Defence Minister,George Fernandes, to set up an Ahir Regiment. He claimed that his Government had given financial assistance of Rs.10 lakh each to the dependents of the martyr soldiers. He criticised the previous Governments for not undertaking any developmental work in the Ahirwal area. He asserted that his regime had ushered rapid development in the backward area. The Vice-Chancellor of Maharishi Dayanand University, B.S.Suhag, said that the building of the regional centre would be completed within a year and apart from the subjects of English, mathematics, commerce and history, professional courses like MBA, MCA, LL.B. and B.Physiotherapy would also be started.
