TIRUCHI, FEB.19. The Rocktown Jaycees organised individual development training programmes on `awakening the giant within' in five colleges here recently. Speaking at the programme held at the Urumu Dhanalakshmi College, the Assistant Director of Employment, P.Suresh Kumar, called upon the student community to develop self-confidence to meet future challenges. The principal, S. Sooriyamoorthy, in his presidential address, urged the younger generation to shun inhibitions. The vice-president of the Rocktown Jaycees, V. Vijayakrishnan, imparted training to the students of the Holy Cross College and it was inaugurated by the principal, Rosy. The programme at the E. V. R. Periyar Government College was organised by the NSS unit of the college and the former president of the Jaycees, R. Velmuguran, was the resource person. The principal, Karunanidhi, inaugurated the programme. The State trainer of the Jaycees, N. Annamalai, and its director, K. A. Nagarajan, were the resources persons at the programme held at the Kurinji Arts and Science College and the National trainer, L. J. Charles, conducted the individual development programme for students of the Srimad Andavan Arts and Science College. The principals, A. Venugopal and V. Badrinath, respectively offered their felicitations. In a press release, the Jaycees Project Director, R. Sivakumar, said the programme was organised in connection with the national level campaign to develop leadership qualities among the student community. The programme evoked overwhelming response in all colleges, he added.
