DAVANGERE, FEB. 20 . The Davangere District Madigara Association has urged the Chief Minister, S.M. Krishna, not to give Congress ticket to Chandrappa, Bharamasagara MLA, who joined the party a few days ago. Addressing presspersons here today, B.H. Veerabhadrappa and Hanumanthappa, office-bearers of the association, said there were many senior leaders in the party and from the Madigara community who could contest from Bharamasagara. If the party had decided not to give ticket to those who were defeated in the past, it could field leaders from the community who could win elections. If the party gave ticket to Mr. Chandrappa, the association would urge Madigas to vote against the Congress.
