CHANDIGARH, FEB.20. The Haryana Cabinet, which met here today under the chairmanship of the Chief Minister, Om Prakash Chautala, decided to allot about 500 acres of land to Maruti Udyog Limited in the Devi Lal Industrial Model Township, Manesar in Gurgaon district at a price of Rs.19.50 lakh per gross acre to set up its new plant. The Cabinet also approved the Excise Policy for the year 2004-2005.The possession limit for the defence personnel and ex-servicemen has been increased from the existing six bottles per person to the specified quota in the Army order, which is 18 bottles at present. The system of integrated quota has been abolished and the quota for the next year has been fixed at 425 lakh proof litre and 175 lakh proof litre respectively for country liquor (CL) and Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL). The bars in the State can now sell medium range of IMFL along with Bacardi, Rum, Vodka and so on, a facility which was withdrawn in the last policy. Further, a new category of bar licence has been added with an enhanced licence fee of Rs.10 lakh where imported foreign liquor can also be served. The label fee has been reduced drastically to encourage the availability of greater variety in the market. Further, keeping the fast changing and enhanced economic status of rural folks, the sale of IMFL has been permitted from rural vends also. The export fee has been marginally increased. The license fee of distilleries, breweries and wholesale liquor vends has been increased. The licensee would have to keep his vends closed on Republic Day, Independence Day and Mahatma Gandhi's Birthday.
