KOCHI, FEB. 20. A writ petition was filed by the Intelligence Bureau before the High Court challenging the Marad Judicial Commission's order directing it to produce all information received and collected by it from December 2001 to May 2, 2003 from Marad. The petition was filed by the Deputy Director, Subsidiary Intelligence Bureau, Thiruvananthapuram. The Commission had overruled the objection raised by the IB and directed it to produce the information. According to the petitioner, the disclosure of the information would have a serous bearing on the national security. It would also reveal the source of information, besides hampering the operational capabilities on the critical area of counter-terrorism. Therefore, the disclosure of the information would not be in public interest.
