1.90 lakh children to be given polio drops in Dindigul dt.

DINDIGUL, FEB.21. Polio drops will be administered to children aged below five years in the second phase of the pulse polio programme between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. tomorrow in Dindigul and Theni districts.

The Dindigul Collector, P. Senthil Kumar, said in a release today that 1,232 centres had been set up and 5,146 officials deployed in the district. About 1.90 lakh children would be covered.

Elaborate arrangements had been made to cover children in all municipalities, town panchayats and village panchayats. Besides, centres had been set up in railway stations, bus stands, government hospitals, primary health centres, sub-centres and other public places.

The Collector, Atul Anand, said 1.22 lakh children would be given the drops through 786 centres in the district. Elaborate arrangements had been made for covering all children, including those living in remote villages. Officials had been deployed at prime locations and public places to cover children in transit.
