BHADRAVATI, FEB. 21. "The Congress has implemented several welfare schemes for the people of Karnataka." The party workers should unite and work for the success of the Congress candidates in the Assembly and Parliamentary elections," Rajavardhan, the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee observer, has said. Noting that the party was more important than the candidate, he called upon Congress workers to keep this in mind while working for the party candidate. Party workers should strive hard to ensure that the Congress came back to power so that it could continue the welfare programmes, he added. Addressing a meeting of the members of the rural and city committees of the party, Mr. Rajavardhan said all parties other than the Congress had split and disintegrated. M.J. Appaji, MLA, the Bhadravati City Municipal Council President, B.T. Nagaraj, and party leaders were present.
