Kurnool
By Our Staff Reporter
KURNOOL, FEB. 21. Ministers, B.V. Mohan Reddy and K.E. Prabhakar, formally launched the work of Gururaghavendra canal at Gundrevula near C. Belagal in Kurnool district on Friday. Addressing a meeting, Mr. Mohan Reddy said Gururaghavendra canal was intended to supply water to the gap ayacut under the Tungabhadra Low Level Canal in Kodumur constituency. He said the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) Government had promised to realise the canal for the people of the drought-prone Kodumur area and get works started before elections. He said the district leadership had brought pressure on the Government to sanction the canal despite the pressing need for irrigation projects elsewhere.
