KARIMNAGAR, FEB 21. For total eradication of polio from the country, the pulse polio immunisation programme would be also held in another four phases on April 4, May 9 and also in the month of October and November this year. Disclosing this to newsmen here on Saturday, the District Medical and Health Officer, A. Anantha Reddy, said that the four phases were aimed at completely eradicating polio from the country. The second phase of the pulse polio immunisation programme would be held on Sunday. He said 2,840 polio booths had been set up in district to administer the vaccine to about 4.91 lakh children. He said that to ensure cent per cent coverage, health workers would conduct house-to-house survey on February 23 and 24.
