HYDERABAD, FEB. 21. The Opposition has posed questions to the TDP chief and Chief Minister, N. Chadrababu Naidu, on his achievements asking him to explain his contribution to the development of the State at Sunday's `Vijayabheri.' In separate statements, the former CLP leader, Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, the CPI (M) secretary, B.V. Raghavulu and the CPI secretary, S. Sudhakar Reddy, accused Mr. Naidu of pushing the State into an irretrievable debt trap. The dwindling asset-liability position and privatisation policies had dealt a crippling blow to the major public services like APSRTC and APSEB, they said. Citing study reports and growth indices, they said the State was lagging behind in every field contrary to the claims of the Government. The performance of industrial front was also dismal and unemployment rate was growing due to `anti-worker' policies, they said. Alleging that the Government had entered into an agreement with the World Bank to hike power tariff soon after the elections for taking a fresh loan of 220 million dollars, they said the plans to privatise education and health completely would spell further doom for the State. They said the Government owed an explanation to people as it had agreed to implement the Special Service Conditions and Dispute Resolution Act, 2003 by entering into the latest agreement with the World Bank, which would have serious repercussions on workers and employees paving way for easy retrenchment.
