KOCHI, FEB. 21. The public should cooperate with the second stage of the Pulse Polio campaign being held on Sunday by bringing children below five years to the booths to administer the oral polio vaccine, the District Medical Officer(DMO) has said. Addressing a news conference here on Saturday, the district immunisation officer, Jaya Lalmohan, said that the campaign had the cooperation of the Ayurveda, Homeopathy, Social Welfare, Education Departments and the Rotary International. A total number of 1,016 booths will function in the district, with 4,064 trained volunteers. Booths will function at primary health centres, Government hospitals, railway stations, boat jetty and bus stands from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Dr. Lalmohan said that all steps to maintain the unbroken cold chain for the vaccine had been taken. K.A. Abdul Gafoor, DMO, Homeopathy, and Lalithambika, DMO, Ayurveda, who participated in the news conference, also appealed to the public to cooperate with the Pulse Polio campaign.
