ALLAHABAD, FEB. 21. Attacking the National Democratic Alliance Government on its "feel good factor" campaign, the Congress president, Sonia Gandhi, today said the benefits of economic development had not percolated down to the farmers, women and the youth. The women were finding it difficult to run the household due to the steep increase in the prices of goods and the condition of farmers had worsened even as unemployment increased, Ms. Gandhi told reporters at the Swaraj Bhawan, ancestral home of the Nehru-Gandhi family. Flaying the BJP's "feel good" and "India Shining" campaigns, she said the Congress, if voted back to power, would seek to correct the mistakes of the NDA Government. Observing that she had undertaken a road show in order to interact with the people of western, eastern and central districts of Uttar Pradesh, the Congress president, who was wrapping up her three-day tour of the State, said she had not seen the impact of "feel good" among the masses during her journey. She said the Congress would stress on reorienting the priorities of economic development for the benefit of the farmers, women and unemployed youth.
`Rahul, Priyanka will not contest'
Brushing aside speculation that her children, Rahul and Priyanka, would enter the election fray, she said there was no possibility of the duo making a debut in electoral politics. - PTI
