Voter ID cards being issued in Mysore

MYSORE, FEB. 21. The city corporation has made arrangements to issue voter identity cards in view of the Assembly and Lok Sabha elections. Voters who have not yet registered their names in the electoral rolls may make use of the opportunity.

A.B. Ibrahim, Corporation Commissioner, told presspersons here on Saturday that voters should secure their identification slips from notified centres.

The identity cards would be issued at the following places: (Krishnaraja constituency; between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. from February 24 to 28) corporation's regional office, K.R. Mohalla; near Akkana Balaga School, Agrahara; (from February 29 to March 5) Vokkaliga Hostel, Vidyaranyapuram; (from March 5 to 9) corporation's regional Office, Chamaraja Mohalla, near Ballal Circle.

(Chamaraja constituency; from February 24 to 28) Jnana Ganga Vidyapeetha, Kuvempunagar; (February 29 to March 4) Government Boys' Higher Primary School, Yadavgiri; (from March 5 to 9) opposite Sri Venkatramanaswamy Temple.

(Narasimharaja constituency; from February 24 to 29) corporation's subdivision office, Lashkar Mohalla (near FTS Circle); (from February 29 to March 4) JSS Mahavidyapeetha, Shishunala Sharief High School, Mahadevpura Road, Yadavgiri; and (from March 5 to 9) corporation's subdivision office, Nazarbad Mohalla, Nazarbad.

Mr. Ibrahim said there were 1,04,827 registered voters in the Krishnaraja constituency, and of them, 62,305 had received the card.

In the Chamaraja constituency, there were 1,53,242 voters, and of them, 82,592 had been issued the card.

In the Narasimharaja constituency, there were 2,13,634 voters, and of them, 1,15,090 had got the card.
