NEW DELHI, FEB. 21. The Delhi traffic police have made diversions and parking arrangements around Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in South Delhi in view of the double-wicket cricket match being played between film stars and cricketers on Sunday. The event, being organised by Khushi, a non-government organisation, is likely to attract a crowd of about 40,000, which in turn would mean around 8,000 vehicles. At least 11 different parking lots have been provided around the stadium to accommodate them. Those coming from Bhishampitamah Marg, either from Ring Road or Lodhi Road side, can park their vehicles in the bays provided at Football Ground, Archery Ground and Kendriya Vidyalaya Ground. Motorists taking the CGO Complex road can avail of the parking along the CGO complex road and the North Gate parking. Those coming from Lajpat Rai Marg-Service road (in front of Lodhi Road crematorium) towards the stadium can park their vehicles at SCOPE building, opposite RAW and MTNL Building. They will enter the stadium from the East Gate. Vehicles coming from Bhishampitamah Marg, service road and Lala Lajpat Rai Marg and going towards SCOPE building can make use of the South Gate parking. The police have requested visitors to alight and board in the parking lots itself as there are no separate alighting points for any category. Motorists, not intending to attend the event, have been advised to avoid Lodhi Road, Lajpat Rai Marg, Bhishampitamah Marg from 10 a.m. till midnight. They have also been advised to take Subramaniam Bharti Marg as substitute for Lodhi Road, Mathura Road for Lajpat Rai Marg and Aurobindo Marg for Bhishampitamah Marg.
