Temperature

MADURAI, FEB. 21. The city today registered a maximum temperature of 35 degree Celsius and a minimum of 20.6 degree Celsius.

Water level

The level in the Periyar dam stood at 109.4 feet with no inflow and discharge of cusecs.

The level in the Vaigai dam was 30.41 feet with a discharge of 30 cusecs.

The combined Periyar credit was 1148 mcft.

Merchants' plea

The Tamil Nadu Textile Merchants' Association has urged the Corporation to change the timing of road cleaning works in the city.

In a statement here, it said since the works were being carried out from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. when most of the parking lots were full and pedestrian movements more — sand and dust could not be removed properly.

Hence, the Corporation should take up the works either before the office hours, from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m., or at night.

Interruption

There will be interruption in telephone services at the Tirunagar telephone exchange on the midnight of February 22, as the BSNL will carry out maintenance work of the optical fibre cable at Pazhanganatham, according to a release.

Cut-off date

The Madurai chapter of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India has announced that the cut-off date for admission to the intermediate course in Company Secretaryship is February 29.

Those, who register before the cut-off date, will be eligible to appear for the examinations in December.
