House burgled

Unidentified persons broke into the house of a doctor, M.R. Rao, in Maruthinagar under the Serilingampally police station limits on Saturday and took away valuables worth Rs. 2.5 lakhs. The robbers entered the house when the inmates were away. On returning home, the doctor found 50 tolas of gold ornaments and Rs. 35,000 cash missing.

Impostor arrested

The Abids police on Saturday arrested a person, Ramakrishna (58), who allegedly posed as an officer of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), seeking a birth certificate for his son-in-law at the Hyderabad district Collectorate here. Investigations revealed that Ramakrishna retired as a senior assistant from the Medical and Health Department, and a native of Warangal district, the Abids ACP, Mohd. Tajuddin, said.

Two die in road accidents

A private firm employee, M. Reddy (24), died on the spot when a tractor knocked him down while he was walking on the road near Yapral, on Saturday. The Bollaram police are investigating the case.

In another incident, D. Narasimha Goud (50), a businessman, died when a speeding lorry hit the scooter he was riding at Jeedimetla crossroads under the Ghatkesar police station limits. The victim was a resident of Kareemguda village in Keesara mandal.
