KOCHI, FEB. 21. A meeting to review the cleaning of the Thevara-Perandoor, Rameswaram-Kalvathy and Manthra canals was held at the Mayor's chamber this afternoon. The meeting was called ahead of the sitting of the Ombudsman for Local Bodies scheduled for Monday. The Mayor of the Corporation, C. M. Dinesh Mani, said the meeting was called to take a look at the progress of the work. The canal cleaning work from the KSRTC bus stand to Perandoor will be completed by April 30. The 8-km stretch will cost Rs one crore.
