Special council meeting

KOCHI, FEB. 21. A special meeting of the Kochi Corporation Council will be held on February 23 at 3 p.m. at the Council Hall, according to a press release from the Kochi Mayor, C.M Dinesh Mani's office.

Water management

The Central Water Commission(CWC), Kochi, will organise a training programme on Water Management for school teachers on February 23 at Hotel Presidency on Paramara Road in Ernakulam North, from 9.30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Painting competition

The Madhavan Nayar Foundation will conduct a painting competition on February 22 at the Foundation complex in Edappally. The competition will be held in three age group categories of 5-8, 9-12 and 13-15 years. The Foundation will provide the drawing paper. The medium of painting will be water colours, crayons, pencil or mixed media. No oil paint will be allowed. The theme of the painting will be announced at the venue. The competition will start at 10 a.m. while registration will begin at 8 a.m.

Exams postponed

All the examinations scheduled for February 24 by the Cochin University of Science and Technology (Cusat) have been cancelled because of the nation-wide strike. New dates will be announced later. However, the B.Tech degree 5th semester supplementary examination (IHRD old scheme) scheduled for the day will be held on March 15, while that of the School of Engineering (Old scheme) will be held on March 17.

Free coaching class

The Saparya Educational Foundation, a legal educational institution, will conduct free coaching classes for students for the five-year LL.B and three-year LL.B entrance examinations in the State, NLS, NIALS, etc. Classes handled by advocates and legal experts will start on February 28.
