BANGALORE, FEB. 21. The police with assistance from the people caught six persons who snatched a cash bag containing Rs. 65,000 from a man on Saturday. According to the Chickpet police, Chandrashekar, an accountant in a textile company, was carrying the cash for depositing it in the bank when the miscreants snatched the bag. People who chased the miscreants caught Rasheed (20). Another miscreant, Vijaya Keshav, was caught by Nelamangala police. The Kyatsandra police caught Siddique (20), Rakesh (25), Imtiyaz (42), and Sanjay (26) in a Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation bus.
Commit suicide
A woman committed suicide along with her two children by jumping into a well at Reddihalli in Devanahalli police station limits of Bangalore Rural district on Saturday. The police gave their names as Laxmidevamma (26), Ranjit (5), and Manoranjan (1). A family dispute is said to be the reason for Laxmidevamma taking the extreme step. A complaint has been filed against her husband, Venkatesh. In another incident, a 11-year-old girl, Kamala, allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself from a ceiling fan at her house in Sunkadakatte around 7 a.m. on Saturday. The police said Kamala, daughter of Bharathi and Kumar, was a sixth standard student at Doddanna School in Sunkadakatte. While Kumar is a driver of a private vehicle, Bharathi works in a factory, the police said.
Gorkhas held
The Kamakshipalya police arrested three Nepali Gorkhas on charges of murdering a watchman and taking away Rs. 4.65 lakh from a garment factory on February 8. The police gave the names of the arrested as Shankar Bahadur (20), Dhyan Bahadur (22), and Namraj Bahadur (24).
