KOTTAYAM, FEB. 22 . The Congress would announce the list of its candidates for the coming Lok Sabha elections in Kerala within a week, the AICC leader, Ramesh Chennithala, said today. Talking to reporters here, he said the party would consider the views of the senior leader, K. Karunakaran, while finalising the candidates. Stating that the Congress alone could lead a secular front, he accused the CPI(M) of trying to sabotage formation of such a front at the national level. He said so far the Congress was following an open discussion for a stable Government at the Centre. On the factionalism in the State unit, he said the leadership was trying to settle the issues and cited the induction of the former KPCC president, K. Muraleedharan, son of Karunakaran, into the Antony Cabinet. Criticising the policies of the BJP, he said only film stars and singers were joining the party, and that the party had no political ideology. On the Congress-led UDF Government in Kerala, he claimed it had maintained social equilibrium among all sections of the people. He said that the KPCC executive would meet on February 23. PTI
