Mangalore
By Our Staff Correspondent
MANGALORE, FEB. 22. The Deputy Commissioner, Arvind Shrivastava, said here on Sunday Dakshina Kannada had immense potential to emerge as a leading hub of health tourism. The district in general and Mangalore in particular had made progress in the health sector in recent times, he added. Inaugurating "Medicity", a polyclinic, he said Mangalore had emerged as a healthcare destination. Noting that the city could offer world class health facilities at a fraction of the cost prevailing in the rest of the world, he said this would help the district attract a large number of people. Noting that a special economic zone would be set up in the district in the next two years, Mr. Arvind said the health sector would receive due prominence. He opined that the health sector had contributed immensely to the city's economy.
