Rifle shooting contest winners

VIJAYAWADA, FEB. 22. Siblings Chaitanya Naidu (18) and her younger brother, V. Parthsarathy Naidu, emerged winners in the district rifle shooting competitions held at the SRR College Grounds here on Sunday.

The competitions were held under the aegis of the Krishna District Rifle Association.

While Parthasarathy scored 66 points to emerge winner in the 10 metres `air rifle' competitions for boys under-18, Chaitanya secured 37 points to emerge winner in the girls category.

Mohan Krishna and Sangeetha both from S.K.P.V.V Hindu High School were the runners up respectively in the boys and girls category.

Following are the winners of the other categories: Men: Prasad (winner), R.K.B Singh (runner up); women: G. Papa Shyam Kumari; standard rifle category: Syed Iqbal Ahmed (winner), K.V. Ramakrishna (runner-up); veterans: P. Janardhan Murthy (winner), Gokaraju Gangaraju (runner-up).
