Case filed against ACP
In his complaint, Mr. Babu charged that Mr. Nageswara Rao abused him in the name of caste while he was regulating traffic movement at the Mahabubnagar crossroads. The ACP allegedly picked up an argument with Mr. Babu and began to abuse him. When the Inspector questioned him as to why he was scolding him, the ACP allegedly beat him up. Case was booked against the ACP under Sections 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) and 353 (assaulting a public servant from discharging duties) of the Indian Penal Code.
Jewellery taken away
On his return at around 5 a.m., Mr. Zahidi found the shelves in the bedroom broke open and 62 tolas of gold ornaments, 38 tolas of silver articles, a Yashica camera and Rs. 1,500 in cash stolen.
