BANGALORE, FEB. 22. Bhagyalakshmi (21) committed suicide allegedly by hanging herself at her brother's Jaimaruthinagar residence in the Nandini Layout Police limits on Sunday. The police said Bhagyalakshmi had been staying with her brother for the last one year, searching for a job. She was disillusioned as she was not able to find employment in the city, the police said. She was married for the last two years. Her husband was living at their native Amruthahalli in Kunigal taluk, the police added. The body was taken to Victoria Hospital for post-mortem.
Dies of injuries
Chandrashekhar Pawar (69), who suffered severe injuries in a road accident on January 13, died at a private hospital in Yeswanthapur on Saturday. The victim, who was a commission agent at the RMC Yard Market, was grievously injured when his scooterette skidded near the Yeswanthpur Railway Station in the Yeswanthpur Traffic Police limits, the police said.
Recovered
Ulsoor Police recovered four more Titanium metal rings worth about Rs. 3.20 lakhs stolen from the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) with the arrest of one more accused person, K. Vijayan (45), a resident of Doopanahalli. The police said Vijayan was allegedly buying the rings stolen from the space research organisation premises. The four rings were reportedly recovered from the scrap shop of Vijayan, the police said. Earlier, Saravana (22) of Byappanahalli and Chitra (18), were arrested and 24 metal rings, used for space research, recovered. The rings were valued at about Rs. 20 lakhs, the Ulsoor Police said. The arrested persons are now in judicial custody.
Spares seized
R.T. Nagar Police seized vehicle spares worth about Rs. 15.5 lakhs, after arresting two persons, Syed Mazhar (18) of Frazer Town Giddappa Block and Amjad (19) of Tannery Road. The police said the arrest of the two had helped solve 70 cases of vehicle spares theft reported from the R.T. Nagar, J.C. Nagar, Sanjayanagar and Yelahanka police limits. The two persons were arrested when they were allegedly trying to remove the spares of a van parked at Hanumanthappa Layout in R.T. Nagar, the police said.
