Ridiculous demand

Sir, — The demand of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam leader, M. Karunanidhi, that the post of Governor be abolished (Feb. 23) is ridiculous. Every constitutional post, let alone that of a Governor, has a role to play in the democratic process. It would have been better if Mr. Karunanidhi had demanded that the post be redefined.
