Letters to the Editor
Sir, The photo of nine-year-old Rajen at work in a Guwahati garbage dump (Feb. 24) takes away all the `feel good' feeling. Just trying to imagine the poverty that has led him to do the job makes one sick. If India's future depends on its children and youth, can it afford to exclude the poor from it?
A. Jacob Sahayam,
Sir, The photograph is a "shining" example of "India shining." Under this Government's policies, the rich are becoming richer and the poor poorer.
T.S. Padmanabhan,
Sir, The picture would have touched the inner core of every sensitive Indian.
Adarsh V. Pal,
