NEW DELHI: Leading cellular service provider, Airtel, on Monday reached yet another milestone by becoming the first Indian GSM operator to cross the six million-subscriber mark, thus cornering 25 per cent of the market. The company also announced to have reached the one million subscriber-mark in the northern hub comprising Punjab, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh. According to Manoj Kohli, President-Mobility, Bharti Tele-Ventures, "The milestone speaks volumes of the faith and trust that the subscribers have reposed in our services".
