BIDAR, FEB. 24. Banks, whether nationalised, private, or cooperative, in the district remained closed on Tuesday, as part of the nationwide strike in protest against the Supreme Court judgment on right to strike. Members of various bank officers and employees' associations gathered in front of Mohan Market Circle and shouted slogans. R. Balakrishna, convenor of the District Bank Employees Association, and Firasat Ali Khan, who addressed the protestors, put forth their demands such as review of the judgment and early conclusion of wage revision. Members of the State Government Employees' Association also expressed their solidarity with the protesters by wearing black badges at work.
