Patna HC seeks report on road construction
PATNA,
FEB. 24.
Taking the Bihar Government to task for its failure to submit details on the construction of roads from the local area development funds of MPs and legislators across the State in the last three years, the Patna High Court today ordered it to do so by March 15.
A division bench, comprising Justices Nagendra Roy and Navin Sinha, said that a CBI probe would be ordered if the Government failed to submit the report. When the State Government counsel sought more time in view of the officials' preoccupation with the Lok Sabha polls, the judges said: "Do not give lame excuses. Work on Sundays and even on holidays to prepare and submit the report on time." At the last hearing on January 20, the court had instructed the Government to submit the report within a month.
