JAIPUR, FEB. 24 . A new software for computerisation of the land and revenue records developed by the Revenue Board of Rajasthan has bagged the prestigious ISO certification. The software "Jamabandi Ka Apna Khata'' was dedicated to the people by the Revenue Board's Member, J.C. Mohanty, in Ajmer today. Mr. Mohanty pointed out that Rajasthan was the first State in the country to have received the ISO certification in the field. He also inaugurated a workshop for training the resource persons at the tehsil level in the software operations. Mr. Mohanty, who is also in-charge of computerisation of records, said the computer centres had so far been established in 223 of the 241 tehsils across the State and the records of over 80 lakh farmers computerised. The drive for computerisation was launched in the State in 2000 after successful completion of several experiments. The State Government's 100-day action plan envisages total computerisation by March 31 next and an intensive campaign is currently in progress for making the records up-to-date. Mr. Mohanty said the programme would be completed within the time-frame set for it despite several difficulties. The Revenue Board has named the computer centres established in the tehsils as "Apna Khata Kendras'' and is considering a proposal to set up computer kiosks in the rural areas for providing employment to the youth. Mr. Mohanty pointed out that the Board had also introduced the interactive voice response system and registered the land records at the website http://apnakhata.raj.nic.in.
