HYDERABAD, FEB. 24. The Chief Minister, N. Chandrababu Naidu, today sanctioned an ex gratia amount of Rs. 10 lakhs and other benefits to the family of V. Yadagiri, the Andhra Prabha reporter, who was murdered allegedly by the toddy mafia in Medak on Saturday night. In a press release, the Chief Minister also announced that Yadagiri's children would be given free education, his family provided a house site in Medak town and his wife would be helped in suitable employment. Mr. Naidu promised that a comprehensive inquiry would be ordered into the murder of the journalist allegedly by some unidentified persons. He gave these assurances to a delegation of the A. P. Union of Working Journalists that included its president, D. Amar, and the secretary general of the Indian Journalists' Union, K. Sreenivas Reddy, the release added. The Home Minister, T. Devender Goud, disclosed at a separate press conference that two persons wanted in connection with the journalist's murder had surrendered while a hunt was on for another accused.
