Mainly clear sky forecast

NEW DELHI FEB. 24. Delhiites will wake up to a mainly clear sky on Wednesday while the minimum temperature is likely to remain around 13 degrees Celsius during the day.

The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded at Safdarjung on Tuesday were 28.5 and 11.7 degrees Celsius respectively, while Palam recorded 28.2 and 9.7 degrees Celsius.

Safdarjung recorded a maximum humidity of 82 per cent and a minimum of 26 per cent. At Palam, the maximum and minimum humidity were 95 per cent and 35 per cent respectively.

Bank manager shot at

NEW DELHI FEB. 24. A 52-year-old manager of the Mathura branch of State Bank of India was shot at by some unknown persons at Rohini in North-West Delhi on Monday.

According to the police, the incident took place late at night when Radhe Shyam Sahu was on his way home on foot at Sector 3 Rohini. He sustained a bullet injury in the stomach. He has been admitted to Jaipur Golden Hospital where he is said to be out of danger. However, the police have not yet registered his formal statement.

Meanwhile, a case of attempt-to-murder has been registered at Rohini police station and investigations are on.

Auto driver killed

NEW DELHI FEB. 24. An auto-rickshaw driver was killed and a rickshaw puller seriously injured at Kotwali in North Delhi on Monday.

The incident took place in the evening when the auto-rickshaw rammed into the rickshaw near an electric crematorium on Ring Road. Both victims were taken to Jai Prakash Narain Hospital where the auto-rickshaw driver, Shanti Lal, succumbed to his injuries, while the rickshaw puller, Dinesh, was admitted.

In another incident, an unknown person was found killed apparently in a road accident at Gulabi Nagh in North Delhi on Monday. A case of causing death due to rash and negligent driving has been registered and efforts are on to identify the erring vehicle.
