dated February 26, 1954: Dakota crash

A Dakota aircraft crashed near the Jumna Bridge in New Delhi on February 25 while on a test flight. There were no passengers and the crew of three were killed. After the last Dakota air crash, near Nagpur, tests were being carried out with the Dakotas in commission to see whether they were in a position to overcome any emergent situation and certain manoeuvres were being performed for the purpose.
