HYDERABAD, FEB. 25. Twentyfive archakas have so far availed themselves of grants/loans totalling over Rs.8.95 lakhs under the Andhra Pradesh Endowments Archakas and Other Employees Welfare Fund Trust. Of them, 12 received medical aid amounting to Rs.705,015, nine got Rs.10,000 each for cases of natural/accidental deaths and four Rs.1 lakh as loan for performing marriages of their daughters (Rs.25,000 each). The marriage loans are to be repaid in 60 monthly instalments at the interest rate of six per cent. These details were made available at the recent meeting of the trust. The Telangana Archaka Samakhya (TAS) has thanked the Endowments Commissioner, K.V.Ramana Chary, for extending financial assistance to the needy archakas most of whom are languishing on a paltry monthly salary. B. Rama Sharma, vice-president of the Samakhya, who is a trustee, has appealed to archakas to avail themselves of the assistance provided under the fund.
