KATHMANDU, FEB. 25. The continuing Maoist violence in Nepal figured prominently during the talks the Foreign Secretary, Shashank, had with the Nepali Congress president, Girija Prasad Koirala, here today, before wrapping up his four-day visit to the Himalayan kingdom, sources in the party said. The law and order situation, security matters and the Maoists menace mainly figured during the meeting, the Nepali Congress spokesman, K.C. Arjun Narsingh, told PTI. King Gyanendra had granted audience to the Foreign Secretary at the Narayanhity Royal Palace yesterday. During the 40-minute meeting, Mr. Shashank offered India's assistance not only in security matters but also in fields of socio-economic developments.
