Xilinx's India development centre
HYDERABAD: Xilinx Inc, the world's largest supplier of programmable logic solutions, announced strategic partnership with CMC (a Tata group company) to establish a technology development centre in Hyderabad. Wim Roelandts, Chairman of Xilinx said in a release here on Wednesday that the new Xilinx-CMC India Development Centre (XIDC) was being established to develop field programmable gate array (FPGA) solutions targeted at high-growth markets, such as digital consumer electronics, automotive and communications. This would help us expand our presence in the Asia Pacific region, he said. The centre is expected to grow to 300 employees within a few years. CMC's Managing Director, R. Ramanan, said they were partnering Xilinx to develop FPGA technology solutions, and the natural synergies between the two companies would ensure success.
