India Hydro 2004 expo

NEW DELHI: A three-day international conference-cum-exhibition on hydroelectricity, India Hydro 2004, will be organised in New Delhi from March 1. Being jointly organised by the Indian National Hydropower Association and National Hydroelectric Power Corporation, the conference will highlight hydel power potential of the country. Stating that India was endowed with hydel power resources to the tune of 2.5 lakh MW, the NHPC Chairman-cum-Managing Director and INHA head, Yogendra Prasad, said till now, only 10 per cent of the potential had been developed. The conference would facilitate interaction between global experts on hydroelectricity and help forge strategic tie-ups between power companies, he added.
