DSIDC `delaying' allotment of plots

By Our Staff Reporter

NEW DELHI, FEB. 25. The Leader of the Opposition in the Delhi Asssembly, Jagdish Mukhi, today alleged that the Delhi State Industrial Development Corporation (DSIDC) was "purposefully delaying" allotment of plots in the Bawana industrial area, even eight months after the draw of lots.

At a press conference here, Mr. Mukhi claimed that this inordinate delay in allotment of 3,000 plots not only resulted in harassment to industrialists, but also caused revenue loss to the tune of Rs. 12 crores to the Delhi Government.

The Bharatiya Janata Party leader demanded the Delhi Chief Minister, Sheila Dikshit, initiate measures to ensure that the demand letters were immediately issued to all the 3,000 allottees, for which the draw of lot was held on June 6, 2003. This would enable them to take possession of the plot and allow them to set up their industry at the new place.

He urged the Chief Minister to immediately declare industrial plots free hold. "This would check corruption and increase the government revenue,'' he said.
