THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, FEB. 25. The Karnataka Governor, T.N. Chaturvedi, who had been given additional charge of Kerala, was sworn in as Governor here this evening. The senior-most judge of the Kerala High Court, Cyriac Joseph, administered the oath of office to Mr. Chaturvedi at a simple ceremony attended by the Chief Minister, A.K. Antony, his Cabinet colleagues, the Speaker, Vakkom Purushothaman, the Deputy Speaker, N. Sundaran Nadar, MLAs, the Mayor, J. Chandra, the Public Service Commission chairman, M. Gangadhara Kurup, senior civil servants and police officials. Mr. Chaturvedi, who reached here today, was received at the foyer of the Raj Bhavan by the Chief Minister and the Chief Secretary, N. Chandrasekharan Nair, and led to the auditorium for the swearing-in ceremony. After the function, the Chief Minister introduced his Cabinet colleagues to the Governor. Several civil servants and political party leaders present at the brief swearing-in ceremony also greeted the new Governor. The Ministers present were K.M. Mani, K.R. Gouri, P.K. Kunhalikutty, R. Balakrishna Pillai, T.M. Jacob, M.V. Raghavan, K. Sankaranarayanan, K.V. Thomas, K. Muraleedharan, G. Karthikeyan, Babu Divakaran, Cherkalam Abdulla and M.K. Muneer. Among the leaders present were the Indian Union Muslim League MP, E. Ahmed, and the BJP national executive member in charge of Kerala, Padmanabhacharya.
