Uttaranchal
By Our Staff Correspondent
DEHRA DUN, FEB. 25. It was a treat with a difference as the Uttaranchal Chief Minister, Narayan Dutt Tiwari, sang a thought-provoking song here today surprising many with his melodic talents. He quoted profusely from literary texts praising the excellence shown by Jaskiran Chopra in her new book Jashn-e-Tanhai (Celebrating Solitude). Releasing the anthology of Urdu and Hindi poetry, Mr. Tiwari wondered how a busy journalist like, Ms Chopra found the time to pen the thought-provoking poems. The book contains ghazals and nazms in the traditional mode, written in Hindi. The simplicity and freshness in the poems is likely to be welcomed by Hindi and Urdu readers alike.
