Misty morning forecast
The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded at Safdarjung on Wednesday were 28.6 and 13 degrees Celsius respectively, while Palam recorded 28.6 and 10.8 degrees Celsius. Safdarjung recorded a maximum humidity of 86 per cent and a minimum of 37 per cent. At Palam, the maximum and minimum humidity were 93 per cent and 38 per cent respectively.
Builder shot dead
According to police, the incident took place around 11-15 a.m. when Yogesh Sharma, a resident of Kuncha Chhalan, was passing by the Moti Mahal area when a man on foot shot him from point-blank range. Yogesh died on the spot. A case of murder has been registered at Daryaganj police station and efforts are on trace the culprit. Initial investigations revealed that Yogesh was earlier involved in an attempt-to-murder case in 1992 and a murder case in 1996, in which he was acquitted. The police suspect that someone bearing a grudge against him would have killed him.
Two killed in mishaps
A 27-year-old man, Rajesh Kumar, was killed after a tempo hit his motorcycle from behind on Mehrauli-Badarpur Road at Okhla today. The accident took place around 12-45 p.m. Rajesh, who worked for a private company, was a resident of Ambedkar Nagar. The police have registered a case of causing death due to rash and negligent driving and arrested the tempo driver, Sanjay. In another incident, Rishi Raj Patel (22) was killed and his friend, Somayjeet Ram, seriously injured after Rishi Raj lost control over the motorcycle and it hit the railing on the road on Tuesday night. The police have informed the relatives of Rishi Raj, who are at Dhanbad in Jharkhand.
