dated February 27,1954: V.V. Srinivasa Iyengar dead

We deeply regret to announce the passing away of Mr. V.V. Srinivasa Iyengar, a former Judge of the Madras High Court and a distinguished member of the Madras Bar, at 10.30 p.m. on February 25 due to heart attack at his residence in Park Town, Madras. He was 83 and had been unwell for the past one week. Mr. Srinivasa Iyengar was born on March 19, 1871, and was enrolled as an advocate in 1898 and had to his credit 56 years of practice at the Bar. He was appointed Judge of the Madras High Court in 1924 and continued on the Bench till 1928 when he resigned to resume practice. He was President of the Madras Advocates' Association for a number of years and continued to be so till his death. He was Editor of the Law Weekly from 1936 to 1954.
