Suraj Bhan is chief of new SC panel

NEW DELHI, FEB. 26. The Centre today announced the constitution of the National Commission for Scheduled Castes and nominated Suraj Bhan as its chairperson and Fakir Bhai Vaghela as vice-chairperson. The other members are P. Devendra, Phul Chand Verma and Surekha Lambutere.

With the constitution of this commission, the National Commission for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes ceases to exist, according to a press release issued by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment.
