ANANTAPUR, FEB. 28. There were two incidents of bomb attack in the district on Friday afternoon and night. Six persons, including five Congress men, were injured in one of the incidents. According to the police, Kamireddipalli village in Dharmavaram rural mandal witnessed bomb hurling by rival groups last night. Two persons of a group died three days ago allegedly after consuming poisoned country-made liquor. It was alleged that the rival group was responsible for their death. Boya Narasimhulu and his followers were attacked with country-made bombs late last night. Three bombs fell on the house of Ramanjaneyulu, who died due to poisoned liquor, of the Narasimhulu group. The rival group, allegedly led by Sudhakar Reddy, retreated after Mr. Narasimhulu and his followers got over the top of their houses and rained stones and bombs on rivals. No one was injured in the bombing. A police picket was set up in the village as tension prevailed. In another incident, five Congress men and a jeep cleaner were injured in a bomb attack allegedly by Telugu Desam Party rivals in Garisenapalli in Bathalapalli mandal. The Congress group was on way to Dharmavaram, when their rivals, said to be led by Nagarjuna of the TDP, allegedly attacked them with bombs. Injured persons were admitted to the Government Area Hospital at Dharmavaram. It was suspected that Friday's attack was retaliation to the killing of four TDP men in the village in May last year. The police registered a case against Nagarjuna and nine others for the attack.
