S. B. Chavan cremated

NANDED (MAHA), FEB. 28. The mortal remains of the former Union Minister and Maharashtra Chief Minister S. B. Chavan, were consigned to flames today with full State honours.

Amid chanting of vedic hyms, the Maharashtra Transport Minister, Ashok Chavan, who is the son of the departed leader, lit the funeral pyre at 11.40 a.m.

A ceremonial tri-services and 21 gun-salute was presented on the occasion.
