Letters to the Editor
Sir, I was shocked at the statement of V.S. Naipaul that he has justified the demolition of the Babri Masjid not once but several times (Feb. 27). The statement betrays a colonial mindset. It will certainly hurt the feelings of Muslims and also the nationalists who have been so much a part of the freedom struggle. N.G.R. Prasad, Chennai * * * Sir, Sir Vidia's visit to the BJP office should be seen in the context of his long standing interest in Indian cultural history and Indian affairs. He is just a visitor; he should neither be considered an observer nor an admirer. It is unfortunate that the BJP is using the episode for propaganda. V. Shivkumar, Goa
