Letters to the Editor
Sir, Ever since the Indian team's tour to Pakistan was finalised, some Pakistani cricketer or the other has been running down the Indian team on its prospects. First it was Javed Miandad, now it is Rashid Latif. If this is the so-called sporting spirit even before the first ball has been bowled, God knows what to expect when the real battle begins in what is being dubbed as a path-breaking series. Anil K. Joshi, Ranikhet, Uttaranchal * * * Sir, Latif calling Indian cricketers chokers on big stages and poor players of superfast bowling is unwarranted. The statement is unnecessary when the two countries are about to embark on an emotionally charged series. Jeyshree Jayaraman, Coimbatore
