PONDICHERRY, FEB. 29. The Puratchiyalar Ambedkar Thondarpadai today announced that it would boycott the coming elections. A resolution to this effect was adopted at the fifth State level conference of the Thondarpadai held here. The conference was held under the chairmanship of the chairman of the organisation, C. Moorthy. The conference urged the Centre to scrap the Prevention of Terrorist Act (POTA).There were also pleas to the State government to ensure that the plight of the Scheduled caste and Scheduled tribe in the Union Territory was improved by proper implementation of various welfare schemes for the benefit of the downtrodden.
